Biometric Information Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Seva Home Care Illinois, LLC (“Seva,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to handling biometric identifiers and biometric information responsibly. This policy is made available to the public as required by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14) and explains what biometric data we collect, why, how it is protected, and when it is destroyed.
What this covers
Some of our time and attendance systems, including electronic visit verification (“EVV”), use a fingerprint scan or voiceprint to confirm the identity of an employee or caregiver clocking in and out of a shift or visit. This policy covers that kind of biometric data, as required by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14).
Your consent
Before we collect any biometric data, we tell the individual in writing what is being collected, why, and for how long, and we get a signed written release first. We never collect biometric data without that consent.
How we protect it
We store biometric data securely, limit access to the employees and vendors who need it to run our time and attendance systems, and never sell, lease, or profit from it. We only share it if the individual consents, it completes a transaction they requested, the law requires it, or a valid court order requires it.
When we destroy it
We permanently destroy biometric data as soon as its purpose is met, or within three years of the person's last interaction with us, whichever comes first.
